The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2022 Gold Coast Man & Woman of the Year campaign.

Why LLS? Through this last year, as we all faced a global health crisis, LLS worked overtime to support patients, caregivers and families.  In 2021, alone:

• RESEARCH - LLS promoted a treatment modality that barely existed four years ago and is now creating long remissions in patients on the brink of death.
• RESEARCH - Advanced the design of a landmark global master trial that promises to revolutionize pediatric standard of care for acute leukemia.
• ADVOCACY - LLS helped improve the affordability of health insurance through a new federal law that reduces or eliminates premiums for millions of people who purchase insurance through HealthCare.gov.
• PATIENT SUPPORT - LLS provided financial assistance to more than 42,000 patients with over $241M in total grants, a 70% increase over last year

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for cancer, while supporting patients in need. Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, and I hope that my candidacy will help bring those affected by this monster of a disease hope and support. Every donation truly brings us one step closer to a cure, which means even more to me than winning this challenge, or the Of the Year title.
